Webster claims he cares too much
About clothing and personal appearance.
Noah got one part right.
He cares too much.
Webster claims a dandy is
Something excellent in its class.
That’s more like it.
Class, Charm, Grace, Kind.
But what is a dandy…really?
How do you define the undefinable?
I sit in silence and let the wind touch my hair and caress my face,
And I hear the eagle cry as he soars to new heights,
Imposing his shadow over the landscape, eclipsing all others -
That’s Webster’s dandy.
I sit in silence and let the sun warm my skin and tear my eyes,
And I hear the hawk mournfully cry as he seeks his companion,
Claws bared, crown alert, surveying the rich dark earth, freshly tilled -
Still Webster’s dandy.
I sit in silence and let the sound blind and the taste deafen,
And I feel the finch alight on my shoulder and sing softly and sweetly,
Tenderly calling - calling for you and for me…
Come home…
Come home…
You who are weary
Remember…
“Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win.”
“It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway, and you see it through no matter what.”
Don’t forget…
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view … until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”
So I climb, and I’ll keep climbing,
‘Cause life for him weren't no crystal stair,
It’s so dark only fear climbs with me.
I feel every tack, every splinter, every nail.
So I sit in silence and let the darkness buffet my body as the tide gone mad,
But the mockingbird’s singing somewhere in the silence,
“Before I can live with other folks, I’ve got to live with myself.”
There you are, Dandy.
Be classy, be charming, be graceful, be kind,
Care too much.
I hear you Dandy.
I promise I’ll keep climbing.
Keep waiting and watching,
‘Till I’m Home.
